a nice perspective, which make the readers to think from the other side, "What if". But the fact still the fact, and sometimes, the truth is hard, isn't it ?
What If Facebook Was Founded by John Lennon
John Lennon thought all we need is love.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. thought all we need is equality.
John F. Kennedy thought all we need is hope.
All of these men were…
Is there enough dangerous thinking in our society today? Unfortunately, the answer seems to be no.
Technology has enabled us to create online platforms that connect the world, and what have we done with that power? We seem to have squandered it.
- Facebook connects over 1 billion souls together for the purpose of serving “targeted” ads.
- Google organizes, indexes, and makes searchable, all the knowledge of the world, and brings it to our fingertips, all for the singular purpose of serving “better” ads.
- Twitter creates a virtual, global water cooler, for the purpose of serving “drive-by” ads.
What would happen if these powerful online platforms thought dangerously, and instead of pushing ads, they dedicated themselves to accomplishing something greater than mere monetization of the platform?
What if these platforms didn’t have Masters to answer to? What if Founders of these platforms sacrificed themselves for the advancement of humanity as a whole, the way Lennon, MLK, and JFK did?
What could they -and we- accomplish then?
What If Facebook…
What if Mark Zuckerberg grew Facebook organically without outside investments and instead of being pressured to serve ads, created a platform where a global, borderless economy could thrive?
What if Facebook wasn’t merely the size of a 3rd largest country in the world? What if Facebook WAS the 3rd largest country in the world?
What if Facebook issued citizenship papers and enabled people in high-risk areas to move to a safer place?
If Facebook was Founded by John Lennon, I’m pretty sure that’s what he would have done.
What If Google…
What if Sergey Brin and Larry Page used Google as an engine of world-wide equality?
What if, instead of selling ads and funneling traffic to big brands that can afford it, Google created a flat earth? No hierarchy, and no divisions in wealth.
What if Google became a giant and global ladder for everyone to improve their living conditions? A way to bring upward-mobility everywhere, regardless of which country they happen to be in.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said:
“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight.”
If Google was Founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I’s pretty sure that’s what he would have done.
What If Twitter…
What if the Founders of Twitter decided to forbid government officials, politicians, actors, entertainers, and companies, from using Twitter until free, global healthcare and food is available to all?
What if Twitter held itself hostage until all people are sufficiently taken care of?
If big names in entertainment, as well as brands, get cut off from the rest of the Twitter population, that just might provide a sufficient motivation for governments and companies to work together toward a global food and healthcare solution.
If Twitter was Founded by John F. Kennedy, I’m pretty sure that’s what he would do.
Lennon, MLK, and JFK were men NOT driven by money. And that is a dangerous thought.
If these men were alive today, and were at the helm of powerful online platforms like Facebook, Google, or Twitter, we just might see a real change due to radical and dangerous thoughts, like love, equality, and hope.
As it stands, these platforms are owned by men who are perfectly content with merely getting rich. And that is ordinary.

And that was some dangerous thinking right there. The idea of ever having Facebook has a whole country is extremely fascinating and thought provoking.
